Pets In Need Veterinary Clinic is a non-profit organization with a mission of providing low cost veterinary care to the pets of low income Rhode Island residents. All services provided are offered at roughly 30-40% of market rate. Services are NOT free.
If a health problem or issue can be detected in its early stages, there is a far greater likelihood it can be treated with less difficulty, less expense, and greater success. During a wellness exam, our veterinarian will fully examine your pet and go over any medical concerns you may have.
During each examination, we take the time to listen to your concerns, answer questions and give you all the information you need to be the best caregiver to your pet. We also discuss your pet’s medical history, nutritional needs, behavior and exercise routine.
Thanks to the generous support of the RISPCA, we are able to offer digital x-rays at our facility. Digital x-rays can also help our veterinarians identify a fractured bone, cancerous tumors, heartworm disease or an obstruction or foreign body in your pet’s stomach. We are also able to offer blood work, urine analyses, and much more.
We are happy to offer a wide range of surgical procedures for small animal patients. We perform a wide range of surgical procedures including: Soft tissue surgery, orthopedic surgery, cancer related surgery, trauma surgery, lameness evaluation, and more.
We provide high quality, low cost spay and neuter surgeries for cats, dogs and rabbits. However, we focus on surgeries not offered at other clinics for a discounted rate. Therefore, we ask that clients call the Spay & Neuter Clinic to schedule the procedure.
Early spaying of female dogs and cats can help protect them from serious health problems later in life such as uterine infections and breast cancer. Neutering a male pet can also lessen its risk of developing an enlarged prostate gland and testicular cancer. Other benefits include spayed females do not go into heat, neutered cats can no longer mark their territory by spraying strong-smelling urine, male dogs won’t feel the need to roam away from home and they tend to live longer, healthier lives with fewer behavioral problems.
We provide dental services including routine cleaning and polishing and surgical extractions to manage and treat severe oral disease conditions. All dental procedures include full mouth dental radiographs. Dental surgeries are our highest demand service. Please note it may take a number of months for your pet to receive dental surgery.
